The impact of last year’s World Cup was felt by soccer fans and players around the planet. So it was no surprise when second-graders at the Oak Bluffs School decided to stage a “world cup” of their own.

After defeating the third grade last year, the current third-grade class thought they could top their elders, now fourth-graders, once again. They were so confident that some of their classmates created an actual cup with the help of the art department. The fourth grade prevailed, however, in a tight match, 2-1.
