New Perspective
Things are looking new and different for the remarkable photorealist painter Ovid Osborn Ward. The long-time Island artist and Edgartown realtor Susan L. Cahoon have teamed up in life — the couple recently married — and in business. Mr. Ward has opened a new gallery of his work in his wife’s office, Broker of Homes on Martha’s Vineyard in Post Office Square, Edgartown, open most days from 9 am to 5 pm.
Mr. Ward says, “This gives me an opportunity to show my work in a cohesive display. The wall space is great — very bright.”

Also Saturday, from 10 am to 3 pm, Sandy Bernat of Seastone Papers will begin to teach Bookmaking: Wet Bound Books at her Christiantown Road studio in West Tisbury.

Not gone, not forgotten
Although her State Road gallery has closed, jeweler Beth McElhiney has been high-profile busy with her art. She was among the artists at the Friends of Family Planning Art Show this past weekend showing her new enamelware, and at Featherstone Center for the Arts Art of Jewelry show.
She invites anyone interested in seeing her work to call and make an appointment to visit her at home. Call 774-563-0395.
