In “The Amish Project” by Jessica Dickey, an Island Theatre Workshop production, actress Taffy McCarthy plays seven different characters involved with the tragic schoolhouse shooting that took place in the Amish community of Nickel Mines, Penn., in October 2006.

A fictional exploration of what happened, the path to forgiveness, and compassion that followed in its wake, the play is directed by Kaf Warman.

Of the 2008 NYC Fringe production, The New York Times wrote, “extraordinary…compelling…the play is a remarkable piece of writing.”

The show runs June 24-26 and June 30 through July 3, at 8 pm, at the Katharine Cornell Theatre. Tickets are $20 at the door, or online at ticketsmv.com.
