To the Editor:
I faced a surprise party birthday-cake crisis, and Gates, the owner of Rickard’s Bakery, came to my rescue (after closing time, on a Sunday) in a huge way.
This is customer service at its best and is exquisitely refreshing to experience on our wonderful but (sometimes maddeningly) relaxed Island.
Kudos to a fine new business. (Doesn’t hurt that their baked goods are fresh and extraordinary.)
