The American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living (AHCA/NCAL) has awarded the staff of Windemere Nursing and Rehabilitation Center with a Bronze Commitment to Quality National Quality Award “for its outstanding performance in the health care profession,” according to a press release.

The Island’s only nursing home is adjacent to Martha’s Vineyard Hospital.

“This award belongs to every employee at Windemere, and we are tremendously proud of all the work our staff has done to get us to this position,” Ken Chisholm, Windemere administrator, said. “This is the second quality award we have received this year. The positive recognition is a testament to the staff and the daily work of taking care of our residents. Every day, it’s the CNAs, the LPNs, the RNs, and the environmental services staff who do the hard work.”

“This award signifies a great commitment to quality care and an important step in raising the standards of sustainable, person-centered care and services,” Mark Parkinson, president and CEO of AHCA/NCAL, said. “We congratulate Windemere on this achievement.”
