
The Martha’s Vineyard high school girls cross country team ran away from visiting Bishop Stang on the Vineyard’s 5K course through the State Forest, last Wednesday.
The Islanders came close to a sweep, finishing 1,2,3,5, and 6. Hannah Moore’s winning time was 20:58. Lilly Neville was second at 21:25. Then came (3) Shivonne Schofield 21:59; (5) Julia Neville 22:45; (6) Lucy Norris 23:40.; (7) Willoe Maynard 24:01; (8) Shelby Ferry 25:08; (9) Maya Harcourt 25:15 and Sophie Ulyatt 25:46. It was the Vineyard girls’ second win of the season, against no losses.
The MV boys were equally dominant, winning with Kyle Joba-Woodruff, first at 17:24. Cooper Chapman finished second in 17:41.
