Players from the 1991 Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School state championship football team finally recieved their rings, Friday night, at the pre-Island Cup alumni dinner at the high school cafeteria. Eight members of the team were on hand as Vineyard head coach Donald Herman handed out the rings.
Joanne Araujo accepted a ring for her late son, Ian, who died in 1996. The 1991 team was the first Vineyard squad to win the state title and the first group of players that Donald Herman coached from freshman through senior years.
