The West Tisbury Free Public Library will hold a public focus group to gather community comment on plans to expand and renovate its 20-year-old facility at 6 pm, Tuesday, December 6 at the Howes House on State Road, across from Alley’s Store. The forum is open to all Island residents.
Of the six Island town libraries, the West Tisbury Library now has the highest circulation and the largest collection, yet its facility is the Island’s second-smallest, larger only than Aquinnah’s, according to a press release.
“A good public library should be an accurate reflection of the community that uses it,” library trustee Dan Waters said. “We’ve been collecting public input since 2008. We’ve been holding forums and focus groups every month since April of 2010. All these presentations may seem like overkill, but we really want to hear what every last person has to say.”
