Angelina Whittemore, 89, died on January 20, 2012. For 63 years she was married to her beloved husband and high school sweetheart David, before he died in 2005.
Angie was born March 5, 1922, in Boston to Athanasia and Stavros Kariotis. Her last two years were spent at Emeritus Assisted Living in Plymouth.Angie leaves behind three daughters — Joan Whittemore, Margaret Plisinski and her husband, Paul, and Dolores Lord; her sister Helen Graham; and her brother George Kariotis and his wife, Ellen; 12 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and a very dear friend and caregiver at Emeritus, Lenora Behning. She was predeceased by brother Andrew Kariotis.
She graduated from Falmouth High School and went to Bryant and Stratton Business School in Boston. She lived on Martha’s Vineyard for more than 63 years. She and her husband ran the Old Barn Antiques in Vineyard Haven for 40 years. She was a very fun-loving, gregarious person, a wonderful cook, and loved the beach, boating, dancing and music. Angie will be forever missed by all who knew her.

A funeral Mass will be held in Falmouth at St. Patrick’s Church, 511 Main St., Falmouth on Saturday, January 28 at 10 am. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Falmouth.
