The Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School boys varsity hockey team takes to the ice at 2 pm, Saturday in Brockton against the Tigers from Oliver Ames High School in North Easton.
It will be the Vineyarders return to Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association (MIAA) tournament play following a two-year hiatus.
The Vineyard hockey boosters will sponsor a fan bus to take Islanders to the game. There is no charge but booster club vice president Bill Davies said it is important to know how many people will want to make the trip. The fan bus will pick up people in Woods Hole at 12:45 pm (noon boat out of Vineyard Haven) and return after the game.
“We’re just trying to get as much fan support as possible for the boys,” Mr. Davies told The Times Thursday. “We want to put as many people as possible in the stands. The team thrives on the crowd support.”
