Hoping for a lucky longshot, a crowd of Vineyard horse racing fans, dressed in finery that would have fit right in on Millionaire’s Row at Churchill Downs, gathered at the Porteguese American Club on the first Saturday in May to watch the 138th Kentucky Derby.
