Last Sunday, June 3, the Martha’s Vineyard School of Ballet presented the much loved children’s story “Annie” at the Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School Performing Arts Center.

The production featured Megan Mendez of Vineyard Haven as 11-year-old Annie, Holly Vages as Miss Hannigan, Sue Dunbar as Miss Grace, Christopher Mendez as “Daddy” Warbucks, and the other ballet students as Orphans and Dream Catchers. With colorful costumes and Beth Vages’s playful choreography, the young dancers brought the 1933 story to life on stage.

Preceding the ballet, Kendra Frank and Lucas Parada from Cape Cod’s Atlantic Coast Ballet, and Megan Mendez and Sarah Pertile from the Island, presented their pieces from the Dancers Project Variations.
