Dancers aged 3 to 16 took the Performing Arts Center stage last weekend for Show Stoppers! this year’s dance recital from RISE Vineyard Performing Arts, directed by Jil Matrisciano.

The performances were on Saturday and Sunday, June 16 and 17, at the Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School in Oak Bluffs.

Named for the pause that follows applause, Show Stoppers! amazed with 28 numbers selected from some of the most memorable musicals from broadway and beyond.

This year RISE celebrated its fifth birthday. Dancers sashayed, swayed, spun, and balleted their way through numbers that ranged from Peter Pan’s “I Won’t Grow Up” to “Swan Lake” to “On My Own” from Les Miserables while clad in an eye-catching array of costumes.
