Oak Bluffs weekend arrests included a man screaming obscenties

Oak Bluffs police made seven arrests, took three people into protective custody, and responded to 65 incidents during the last weekend in August, according to a police log.

Just after midnight Thursday, police arrested Samual Zimmerman, 26, of Weston “after officers observed Zimmerman in a highly intoxicated state, walk up and down Circuit Avenue screaming profanities to the alarm of hundreds of other patrons,” according to police. Mr. Zimmerman was arrested on a charge of disorderly conduct.

On Friday afternoon, police went to Beach Road in response to a report of a male who had broken into a house and stolen a bottle of wine from a refrigerator. Police arrested Benjamin Haas, 34, of Oak Bluffs on charges of felony breaking and entering in the daytime, larceny from a building, and larceny under $250.

Early Saturday morning just after midnight, police arrested Alexandra Kelley, 23, of Milton, after police saw her strike a man several times in the face with a closed fist in front of the Flying Horses carousel, according to the log. Police arrested Ms. Kelley for assault and battery.

About 10:30 pm Saturday, police went to 7 Fitchburg Avenue, after a report of a domestic dispute. Police arrested Odelis Gonzalez, 23, on an outstanding default warrant and Michaela Bavis, 22, for vandalism. Both are from South Boston.

Early Sunday morning, police arrested Dominique Hendelman, 30, of Edgartown, for operating under the influence of liquor, negligent operation, marked lanes violation, and speeding, following a motor vehicle stop on Beach Road in the area of Hart Haven.

Just after 4 pm that afternoon, police arrested Derek Loonan, 25, of Oak Bluffs, on charges of receiving stolen property over $250, possession of class E drug, and credit card misuse, in connection with an investigation into the theft of items from a vehicle parked on Saco Avenue.
