Two Legs Good, Four Legs Better

The name may be vague, but the mission is clear: Island Grown Initiative achieved its goal of getting a poultry processing facility and now strives to get a USDA-inspected slaughterhouse here on the Island so local farmers do not have to send animals off Island to be slaughtered.

This Saturday, Oct. 27, at the Ag Hall in West Tisbury, hear about the plans from 4 to 5:30 pm, then enjoy soup from 7a Foods, Morning Glory Farm, State Road Restaurant, and the Scottish Bakehouse; and dessert from Tisberry. Good Night Louise will play music; there is a $10 donation for soup; BYO bowl and drinks. Visit islandgrown.org for more information.
