For a good cause

Friends and family of Tim Fullin of Vineyard Haven are having a benefit party at the Portuguese-American Club this Saturday, Nov. 3, to help raise money to defray some of his travel and medical expenses, as he battles with cancer. From 4:30 to 7 pm, feast on a chicken dinner. An auction and music follows dinner, and if you would like to donate anything to the auction, call 508-326-9430 or 508-360-3532. Admission is $15.

A barn full of fun

The annual romping good-time Barn Raisers’ Ball is this Saturday, November 3, at the Ag Hall in West Tisbury. From 7:30 to 10 pm, dance to music by Johnny Hoy and the Bluefish. Admission is free, but it is suggested you bring a dessert to share.

On their way to Philly

The Oak Bluffs School eighth-graders are raising money for the annual trip to Philadelphia with an auction this Friday, November 2. The fun starts at 6 pm at Dreamland in Oak Bluffs. Enjoy a silent and live auction (with auctioneer Carlin Hart), a lottery ticket tree, door prizes, a light harvest supper, chowder bar, salad, and appetizers, for $30. Tickets are available at Conroy’s Apothecary and Jim’s Package Store in Oak Bluffs, from any Oak Bluffs eighth-grader, and at the door. For more information, call 774-563-8765.
