Mass Highway reported that Beach Road between Edgartown and Oak Bluffs is expected to remain closed for a few more hours due to debris that washed up during this morning’s storm.

Beach Road and Five Corners, closed this morning, have reopened to traffic.

The Chappy ferry has resumed service as has the Steamship Authority.

A wind driven tide and heavy rains flooded Five Corners and Beach Road between Edgartown and Oak Bluffs early Thursday morning.

Police blocked traffic from entering flooded roadways for several hours.

Unusually high tides affected ferry loading operations due to the incline of the vehicle ramps.
