Beatle-mania at Film Center

The Daytrippers, a local group of veteran Island musicians, present an orchestrated version of The Beatles’ studio music this Saturday, March 30, at the M.V. Film Center in Vineyard Haven. The concert also features a psychedelic light show, and songs played on the new grand piano recently donated to the center. Tickets are $15; $12 for members and students, and the show starts at 7:30 pm (doors open at 6:45 pm.) Get tickets by email or call 508-696-9369.

Huntin’ eggs

Egg hunts abound this Sunday all over the Island, and a couple on Saturday too: at the St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church Rectory at 10 Bold Meadow Rd. in Edgartown at 9 am, and at the newly re-opened Black Dog Tavern in Vineyard Haven at 1 pm

On Sunday: After its 9 am service, the Chilmark Community Church hosts a hunt; the same goes for Grace Church after its 10:30 am Choral Eucharist; and after the Ag Hall’s 10 am service. Edgartown’s Daniel Fisher House’s hunt starts at 9:30 am, and the M.V. Museum’s at the Edgartown Lighthouse, in collaboration with the Harbor View Hotel, is from 10:30 to 11:30 am. Vineyard Gardens in West Tisburys starts its hunt at 1 pm sharp.

FUS!ON at the Y

The YMCA of M.V. recently began an afterschool program for middleschoolers, called FUS!ON. It meets every Monday through Thursday from 3 to 5:30 pm, and gives kids a chance to do various projects, homework, and enjoy free time, all while being supervised. There is a $60 fee for non-members, and the program is free for members. Call 508-696-7171 ext. 105 to sign up.
