Martha’s Vineyard girls win lacrosse home finale

The Vineyard girls varsity lacrosse team played its final home game of the season Friday on senior day at Dan McCarthy Field in Oak Bluffs and beat the Mashpee Falcons 19-9.

Alayna Hutchinson led the potent Vineyard offense with seven goals and two assists. Molly Wallace also had nine points on the day, with two goals and seven assists. Taylor Poggi scored four goals with one assist, Isabel Smith had three goals, Lee Hayman netted one goal with four assists, Emily DeBettencourt had a goal and two assists, and K.C. Wallace scored once. Goalie Sam Hargy made seven saves.

The Vineyarders (5-10) wrap up the season on the road with games at Falmouth on Monday and Cohasset on Wednesday.
