Rusty Gordon of Ghost Island Farm on State Road in West Tisbury didn’t grow any pumpkins big enough for a child to live in this year, so to get ready for Halloween he made one out of chicken wire, paper-mâché, and orange paint.
Megan Mendenhall of West Tisbury, a farm employee, applied the finishing touches of orange paint on Tuesday night while Mr. Gordon carved what one wag declared “The biggest jack-o’-lantern in town.”
