The extra-point was wide left. The Vineyarders responded with an eight-play, 67-yard drive of their own. Derek Khnaizer put the hosts back on top, 12-7, with a 16-yard TD run early in the second quarter.
The first half came to a dramatic close. With the Vineyarders facing a 3rd and 13 from their own 19, Casey Earle intercepted Tony Breth and ran the ball back for a touchdown. The two-point conversion was good to put Williams ahead 20-7. On the ensuing kickoff, Deshawn James put the Purple right back in the game with a 70-yard TD return. The teams went to the half with the Bishops up 20-13.
