The annual Oak Bluffs tree lighting in Post Office Square is Wednesday, Dec. 4, at 6:30 pm. The Vineyard Brass Ensemble will play traditional carols, and selectman chairman Walter Vail will light the tree. A visit by Santa will follow at Dreamland. New this year, a mural will be unveiled in the Corner Store window by Oak Bluffs School students and art teacher Kim O’Connor. The event is free, but food donations for the Island Food Pantry are encouraged. In case of rain, the ceremony will be in walkway between The Locker Room and Sharky’s Cantina.
