Jennie Lindland, an all-star for the Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School girls basketball team last season, is off to an impressive start in her college hoops career at Bridgewater State University.

Jennie scored 18 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in the Bear’s 73-66 victory over Framingham State University in the conference championship game on March 1.

On the strength of that effort, she was named conference co-rookie of the week, for the second time this season.

While she saw limited minutes early in the season, Jennie was a big part of the team’s late season play, averaging 12 points per game over the final six games.

She finished the regular season with 66 rebounds, 19 assists, 33 steals, and 23 blocked shots.

Bridgewater State will travel to Scranton, Pennsylvania, on March 7, to take on the University of Scranton Lady Royals in first-round action of the NCAA Division III women’s basketball tournament.
