Mass in Motion, Vineyard Committee on Hunger, and Slow Food Martha’s Vineyard have teamed up for a healthy food donation campaign. The first in a multi-series campaign runs from May 30 to June 9, with the next being August 1-10, dates TBA in November, and then again starting in February 2015.

The goal is “to increase the availability of nutritious wholesome food that complements and supplements what clients are given at the pantries and senior programs,” according to a press release. “Items suggested range from personal care products such as toothpaste and toothbrushes, to food items that can be used for healthy cooking – olive oil, beans, nuts, whole wheat flour, whole grain pasta, healthy and necessary condiments and snacks for kids, and everyday indulgences such as coffee and tea.”

Drop your food donations off to the Island Food Pantry boxes located at Stop & Shop in Vineyard Haven and Edgartown, and Cronig’s Markets in Vineyard Haven and West Tisbury. For more information, visit or email
