The West Tisbury Farmers Market kicked off under the sun last Saturday outside the Grange Hall. Live music and aromas from vendor stations filled the air as shoppers and passersby meandered among local produce and familiar faces.

This year the market celebrates its 40th anniversary, having grown from a group of a dozen farmers in 1974 to over 40 vendors who return faithfully each weekend with farm-fresh products, according to its website.

Don’t worry if you missed the first round of honeys, jams, vegetables, and more; the market continues rain or shine every Saturday from 9 am to 12 noon through October, and on Wednesdays from June 18 to August 27. Visit thewesttisburyfarmersmarket.com for more information.
