Bad Martha might be a beer brand name you’ve heard tossed around since its arrival at various Island bars and restaurants last year. As of this weekend the brand will have a home in Edgartown at the Bad Martha Farmer’s Brewery, just in time for the summer rush.
Saturday, June 21, marks the brewery’s official opening in its Upper Main Street locale at Donaroma’s Nursery. From 11 am to 7 pm pub goers can sit among the flowers in an outdoor seating arrangement while sipping any of 10 craft beers, from a chocolate stout brewed with Not Your Sugar Mamas dark chocolate to a hefeweizen brewed with Island grape leaves.
The brew’s website (badmarthabeer.com) spins tales of a “bit of bad in every brew,” but the “bad” in Bad Martha is outweighed by the brand’s charitable endeavor to donate the first 10 percent of beer sale profits to the Island Food Pantry, according to a press release.
The 21+ crowd can get an early taste of the pub on Friday, June 20, at an informational MVYradio event during which MVYRadio DJs will discuss and answer questions about the new listener supported station, 88.7FM, from 5 to 7 pm.
