At the Edgartown Bridge Club at the Howes House on Monday, August 25, 15 tables were in play. North-South winners Carol Whitmarsh and Sari Lipkin, followed by Sandy and Michael Lindheimer in second, Eric Stricoff and Rhonda Cohen in third, Gail Farrish and Warren Morse in fourth, Barbara Besse and Audrey Egger in fifth, and Judy Maynes and Marry Ann Ranalli in sixth. Finishing in first place East-West were Michael Lipkin and Anita Lee, followed by Sandy Smith and Sue Collinson in second, Mollie Whalen and Joe Ashcroft in third, Ency Fokos and Anita Persson in fourth, Kevin Carey and Carolyn Flynn in fifth, and George and Isabel Shattuck in sixth.
At the Martha’s Vineyard Bridge Club on Tuesday August 26, eight tables were in play. North-South winners were Sandy and Michael Lindheimer, followed by Deirdre Ling and Ed Russell in second, and Gail Farrish and Charlie Harff in third. East-West winners were Barbara McLagan and Rich Alpert, followed by Bea Phear and Nancy Neil in second, and Audrey Egger and Miles Jaffee in third.
At the Island Bridge Club in West Tisbury on Thursday, August 28, nine tables were in play for a Club Championship. First place overall went to Joe Ashcroft and Mollie Whalen, followed by David Donald and Rich Alpert in second, Sandy and Michael Lindheimer in third, and Barbara Silk and Bea Phear in fourth. Tied for fifth place overall were Ed Russell and Deirdre Ling and Michael Lipkin and Anita Lee. Also, finishing fourth in the North South direction were Barbara Besse and Miles Jaffe. Also placing fourth in the East-West direction were Anita Persson and Marianne Goldsmith.
At the Bridge Club of Martha’s Vineyard on Saturday August 30, six tables were in play. Finishing first North-South were Colleen Moore and Paul Howes, followed by Art Spielberg and Robert Franklin in second. East-West winners were Brook Robards and Jim Kaplan, followed by Dotti Arnold and Cheryl Neal in second.
