At the Edgartown Bridge Club on Monday, October 6, 13 pairs competed. Finishing first overall were were Eric Stricoff and Rhonda Cohen, followed by Mollie Whalen and Joe Ashcroft in second, Charlie Harff and Dave Donald in third, Louise Marx and Diana Dozier in fourth, and Barbara Silk and Deirdre Ling in fifth.
At the Martha’s Vineyard Bridge Club on Tuesday, October 7, 14 pairs competed in a club championship game. Finishing in first place overall were Barbara Besse and Miles Jaffe, followed by Bob Iadicicco and Sue Collinson in second, and Nancy Neil and Bea Phear in third. Tied for fourth place were Colleen Morris and Art Spielvogel, Ency and Robert Fokos, and Dave Donald and Michel Riel.
At the Island Bridge Club in West Tisbury on Thursday October 9, eight pairs competed. Finishing in first place overall were Eric Stricoff and Rhonda Cohen, followed by Barbara Silk and Bea Phear in second, and Sue Collinson and John O’Keefe in third.
Several of our Vineyard bridge players travelled to the Sturbridge bridge regional last week. Gerry Averill and Diana Dozier placed fourth in an afternoon pair game. Dave Donald and Barbara Besse placed 5th in their section in an evening side game.
