David Bryce Larson died on September 30 of natural causes at his home in Edgartown. He was 61.
David was the son of the late Oscar and Natalie Larson of Duxbury. He was a beloved son, brother, uncle and friend to many.
His life’s profession was as a tennis instructor. He was especially gifted in teaching children the game he loved so much. Many of the kids he coached achieved competitive ranking. He taught in Duxbury, Kingston, Sagamore Beach, and Martha’s Vineyard.
David had a heart of gold and a wonderful sense of humor. In his deep-timbered voice he would entertain us all with his amazing recall of unusual facts and trivia.
He is survived by his sister, Susan Victor of St. Croix, Virgin Islands, and her children, Ben and Britta Victor, and his brother, Robert Larson and his wife, Suzanne, of Fort Myers, Fla., as well as many other relatives and friends.
Funeral arrangements are being made by the Shepherd Funeral Home in Kingston, with a memorial service to be held next summer. Donations can be made in Dave’s Memory to Vineyard Youth Tennis, P.O. Box 72, Oak Bluffs, MA 02557. For online condolences, visit shepherdfuneralhome.com.
