In response to requests from Martha’s Vineyard Youth Soccer and the Vineyard Football Association (VFA), the Massachusetts State Referee Committee will hold a special entry-level referee course from 9 am to 4:30 pm on March 14 at the Tisbury School library.
“We have a growing number of soccer teams on the Island, from U-10s to over-40s, but we have a shortage of referees to officiate the matches,” referee assignor Richard Bennett said. “This is a great opportunity for anyone in the soccer community to learn the rules and earn a little extra spending cash, and the State Committee has really gone out of their way to bring the course to the Island.” For more information go to massref.net, or contact Richard Bennett at rvbennett123@comcast.net.
