The Nixons, Sarah and Bob, who co-own the Home Port and the Beach Plum Inn, were so pleased by Josh Aronie’s work at the Home Port last summer that they’ve crowned him the new executive chef at the Beach Plum Inn. Josh will be collaborating with Nathan Gould (formerly of the Harbor View), who will be running the kitchen at the Inn, and continues to oversee Nick Barbara and his staff at the Home Port. And, of course, he and Nick still run the Food Truck, which is open in front of the Chilmark General Store until May 2.

“I’m not only excited,” Josh says about his new assignment, “but I’m looking at this as a challenge. The Beach Plum is such a beautiful place.”

According to Sarah Nixon, there’s excitement on the part of the Beach Plum’s staff also. “We had a great year [last summer] at the Home Port. Everybody at the Inn is very happy that he’s leading the charge.”

Now the big question is, Where is former Beach Plum Chef Chris Fischer headed? We’ll let you know when we find out …
