The Steamship Authority announced the ferry Nantucket would not make its scheduled 3:45 departure from Woods Hole to Vineyard Haven due to mechanical issues.
SSA general manager Wayne Lamson said a hydraulic line that is used to open and close the stern door on the Nantucket started leaking fluid on the boat and some fluid leaked into the water. Mr. Lamson said crews were cleaning up the leak and the appropriate federal, state and local officials were notified. The Nantucket is expected to resume service with the 5 pm trip from Vineyard Haven, he said.
