Jeff and Peggy Stone of West Tisbury announce the engagement of their daughter, Jessica Stone, to Nicholas Brust, son of Chris Brust of Boone, N.C., and Mim and Richard Dyer of Louisburg, N.C.
The future bride graduated magna cum laude from American University with a bachelor’s degree in public communication in 2009, and received a master’s degree in digital communication from Johns Hopkins University in 2012. She works as director of partnerships at an education technology company in Washington, D.C.
A former pastry chef, the future groom received his associate’s degree in culinary technology from Wake Technical Community College in 2009, and will graduate from North Carolina State University with a bachelor’s degree in computer science in May. Nick is currently a developer at a startup that creates private cloud infrastructure.
The couple, who met on the Vineyard in 2008, plan to marry on the Island in the fall of 2016.
