Kristin Zern of West Tisbury, licensed sales agent and realtor at Vineyard Open House Real Estate, has been named director of its rental division, company owner David Lott has announced.
Ms. Zern spent several years working in New York as a real estate agent and investor, according to a press release, and joined Vineyard Open House in August of last year.
She has also worked for more than 20 years in the travel industry. As an executive director of travel marketing executives, Ms. Zern was responsible for event planning, membership, fundraising, education, marketing, technology, and social media.
“Kristin brings to our clients a unique combination of experience in the real estate and travel industries — both of which figure greatly in the Island economy,” said Mr. Lott. “She also has a decade of experience marketing vacation rentals on sites such as HomeAway and VRBO — sites that are now a must-have for attracting renters.”

Longtime seasonal homeowners on the Vineyard, Ms. Zern and her husband Brook have lived year-round in West Tisbury since 2007.
