The Chilmark Community Center will celebrate Peggy Freydberg with a poetry reading and the publication of Poems from the Pond, 107 Years of Words and Wisdom: The Writings of Peggy Freydberg. The reading will feature Brooke Adams, Nancy Aronie, Geraldine Brooks, Kimberly Cartwright, Laurie David, Jorie Graham, and Tamara Sloan. The event will be held on Sunday, May 24, from 5 to 7 pm, and is free and open to the public. Readings will begin at 5:30 pm. All profits from the sale of the book will go to the Margaret Howe Freydberg Scholarship Fund. RSVP to poemsfromthepond@gmail.com.
