This Sunday, June 7, enjoy a Spring Garden Supper presented by Island Grown Schools (IGS), Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School (MVRHS) Culinary Arts, and the Sweet Life restaurant. The three have teamed up to offer a four-course dinner of fresh seasonal ingredients at Sweet Life restaurant that will be cooked by the students alongside Sweet Life executive chef Kevin Crowell. Enjoy a delicious, locally sourced seasonal supper for a good cause.

This is the second year that the event has been held at Sweet Life. “We’ve been doing this for eight or nine years with IGS, and usually the chefs come to the school. Kevin was nice enough to open up the restaurant to us. Kevin will come to the high school on Friday and prepare with the students, and a team of IGS volunteers will help out as well,” said Jack O’Malley who heads up the Culinary Arts program at MVRHS.

Several local farms have donated ingredients to the event, including beef short ribs from FARM Institute. All proceeds from the supper will benefit IGS. Tickets are $40 for four courses; various seating times are available between 5:30 and 7:30 pm. To purchase tickets, email kelsey@islandgrown.org.

IGS works with children ages 2 through 18 to empower them to make healthy eating choices, learn to grow food, and connect with local farms.
