Last weekend the students of RISE Vineyard Performing Arts presented their year-end accomplishments at the dance school’s eighth annual recital, titled “Masters and Masterpieces,” on Saturday and again on Sunday at the Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School’s Performing Arts Center.

RISE Director Jil Matrisciano was grateful for the success of the performances. “We had a great turnout for both shows, it was really fun, and the audience was super-responsive,” said Ms. Matrisciano.

Dancers performed choreography honoring artists and works of art that have stood the test of time. The diverse soundtrack included classical works, R&B, and rock ’n’ roll anthems that inspired dance in ballet, tap, acrobatics, contemporary, hip-hop, and jazz. The cast of dancers, ages 3 to 18, included RISE’s full student body.
