At the Edgartown Bridge Club on Monday, July 6, 12 tables were in play. Finishing first North-South were Sandy and Michael Lindheimer, followed by Ed Russell and Deirdre Ling in second, Eric Stricoff and Rhonda Cohen in third, Joe Ashcroft and Mollie Whalen in fourth, and Sari Lipkin and Carol Whitmarsh in fifth. In the East-West direction, George and Isabel Shattuck finished first, followed by Bea Phear and Sue Collinson in second, Storey Osborne and Audrey Egger in third, and Ken Judson and Judy Goff in fourth place. Tied for fifth place were Gerry Averill, playing with Diana Dozier, and Ency Fokos, playing with Anita Persson.
At the Martha’s Vineyard Bridge Club in Vineyard Haven on Tuesday, July 7, 10 tables were in play for a club championship game. Finishing first overall were Rich Alpert and Barbara McLagen, followed by Dave Donald and Michel Riel in second, Sandy Lindheimer and Barbara Besse in third, Miles Jaffe and Audrey Egger in fourth, Don Nelson and Foster Osborne in fifth, and Linda Schapiro and Jim Kaplan in sixth. Also placing were Warren Morse and Gail Farrish in the North-South direction and Eric Stricoff and Rhonda Cohen in the East-West direction.
At the Island Bridge Club in West Tisbury on Thursday, July 9, nine tables were in play. In the North-South direction, Sandy and Michael Lindheimer finished first, followed by Richard Williams and Anita Persson in second, Diana Dozier and Joan Perrine in third, and Eric Stricoff and Rhonda Cohen in fourth. In the East-West direction, Jim Kaplan and Miles Jaffe finished first, followed by Dave Donald and Rich Colter in second, Foster Greene and Storey Osborne in third, and Duncan Walton and Audrey Egger in fourth.
At the Bridge Club of Martha’s Vineyard on Saturday, July 11, 11 tables were in play. Finishing in first place in the North-South direction were Ken Judson and Sue Collinson, followed by Ann Brown and Duncan Walton in second, Deirdre Ling and Carol Whitmarsh in third, and Agnes and Phil Burch in fourth. In the East-West direction, Iris Capobianco and Kay Kendall finished first, followed by Julia Burgess and Barbara Alleyne in second, Linda Schapiro and Barbara Kummel in third, and Carol Butler and Lindsey Eakkin in fourth.
