The most highly anticipated week of the summer has arrived. Thursday, August 20, kicks off four days of the annual Agricultural Fair, which will run daily through Sunday, August 23, from 10 am to 11 pm, and from 10 am to 7 pm on Sunday. Rides, games, shucking and fiddle contests, skillet toss, horse pull, woodsmen competition, fiber-arts tent, dog and livestock shows, and more will take place each day at the Agricultural Hall in West Tisbury. This year’s event marks the 154th year for the fair that is sponsored by the Martha’s Vineyard Agricultural Society. Tickets are $10 adults, $5 children 5-12 and adults 62-plus. Children under 5 are free. For a full schedule of events, visit mvas.vineyard.net.

Note: The Guide, the MVTimes’s glossy “insightful” handbook guide to the Vineyard stated that the admission price of the Fair was $30. The admission price is $10; $30 is the price of an Agricultural Society membership.
