Earlier this week, the Barn, Bowl and Bistro in Oak Bluffs announced that longtime Martha’s Vineyard resident Albert Lattanzi will be their new year-round executive chef.
Chef Lattanzi is perhaps best known as chef and owner of Lattanzi’s for 20 years, the popular Italian restaurant and pizzeria in Edgartown where Isola now is.
“I am looking forward to creating a new style of cooking incorporating traditional bowling-alley cuisine with many of my international favorites from over the past 35 years in the restaurant business,” said Chef Lattanzi in a recent press release.
“We have a unique dining room at the Barn, something unlike anything the Vineyard has seen before. It is spectacularly designed, with a truly friendly and upbeat atmosphere, and all the energy that bowling imparts. While we will offer the standard fare one expects at a bowling alley — burgers, pizza, hot dogs and all the rest — that will be only the beginning. As you might imagine, I favor Italian cuisine. It has been my main focus in both culinary creations and travel since graduating from the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, N.Y., in 1979. We will soon be introducing a brand-new lunch and dinner menu, with a variety of tasty and affordable food items. Among them, we’re excited to offer Veal Bolognese, St. Louis Style Spareribs, and a full children’s menu,” said Chef Lattanzi.
The Barn, Bowl and Bistro, 13 Uncas Avenue, Oak Bluffs. Open year-round, seven days a week for lunch and dinner. For additional information call Mike Sawyer at 508-696-9800, or email mike@thebarnmv.com.
