The Massachusetts Referee Association is offering a combination Grade 8 introductory course and Grade 8 recertification course for all Islanders who are currently soccer referees or who would like to learn about becoming a referee. The course will be held at the high school on Saturday, March 12, from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm for new refs, and from 8:30 am to noon for recertifying refs.

Participants can register at massref.net by clicking on the link for Course Schedules and scrolling down to the offering at Oak Bluffs. The cost is $100 for new refs and $50 for returning refs. All Island residents who participate in the introductory course will be reimbursed half the cost by Martha’s Vineyard United Soccer and the Vineyard Football Association at the time of the class; the remaining half will be reimbursed when participants pass the multiple-choice test required in order to earn their referee badge. Recertifying refs will also have their registration fees reimbursed in full at the time of the class. For further information, go to mvunited.org, or contact Richard Bennett at rvbennett123@comcast.net.
