The All-Island Elementary School String Program will present its annual Spring Orchestra Concert on Thursday, April 28, at 6:30 pm at the Performing Arts Center of Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School. The concert will feature two levels of string orchestra, showcasing an assortment of classic pieces, including “Hornpipe,” “Shepherd’s Hymn,” “Beethoven’s 9th Symphony,” “Pink Panther,” “Yellow Submarine,” “Dragonhunter,” “St. Lawrence Overture,” and “Simple Square Dance.” Eighty of the 150 elementary string students participate in the All-Island Intermediate and Advanced Orchestras. The group is under the direction of Nancy Jephcote and Chelsea Pennebaker, with assistants Carol Loud and Rebecca Laird.
