Vineyard boys baseball team loses to Bishop Stang, 4-3

On Friday, Martha’s Vineyard suffered its first EAC conference defeat at the hands of Bishop Stang by a score of 4-3.
Things were looking good for MV which jumped out to a 3-0 lead after two innings. Jacob Cardoza led off the game with a walk and scored all the way on a Jonas Lukowitz double. After a ground out advanced Lukowitz to third Elias Fhagen-Smith knocked him home on a groundout up the middle. MV added it’s third run in the second on a James Sashin home run to right field, the first of his high school career. Bishop Stang scored its first run a Matt Doane (3-3 with 2 doubles and a single) RBI double in the third and then scored the decisive runs, all unearned, in the fifth innning on 3 MV fielding errors. Freshman Jack Sefrino pitched a complete game for Bishop Stang getting the win.
