Vineyard girls varsity tennis team tops Bishop Feehan to stay unbeaten

The Martha's Vineyard girls tennis team is three victories away from another perfect season.

The undefeated Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School girls varsity tennis team hosted Bishop Feehan on Friday in an Eastern Conference matchup and came away with an impressive 5-0 win. With the victory, the girls improved to 12 and 0 on the season, 7 and 0 in the conference. Bishop Feehan’s record is now 6 and 6.

In their final contest at home, the Vineyarders swept the five matches in decisive fashion. First singles: Kelly Klaren, a ninth grader, won her match 6-0, 6-2. Second singles: Kat Roberts won 6-0, 6-0. Third singles: Camilla Prata won 6-1, 6-1.

The two doubles matches were no different. The teams of Lizzie Williamson with Victoria Scott, and Nuun Eskin with Amadine Muniz were dominant in their victories.
The team has three matches remaining, all on the road, and have an opportunity to post their second consecutive perfect season.

Another streak is also within reach: a second straight state title.
