Bryce Alan Liddle died unexpectedly on May 29, 2016, while living on Martha’s Vineyard. He was 27.
He was born on April 6, 1989, in Delaware, Ohio, to Jody (David) Knight and Kurt (Bridget) Liddle.
Bryce was full of life and laughter, and had a smile that could melt your heart. He enjoyed basketball, music, friends, and family. Most of all he loved living, fishing, and driving his car on Martha’s Vineyard.
But by the grace of God, Bryce recently made the most important decision of his life by reaching out for help, and became a resident of the Vineyard House. With guidance from the Vineyard House, Island counselors, other residents, and with the constant love and support of his Aunt Rhonda, Bryce had made it to the 90-day-sober mark, doing so well, and loving life. He was really doing it this time.
It gives the family great comfort knowing that Bryce was learning how to cope and be in control of his life. He was sorting through all of his past and finally living a full life. Although we have the comfort of knowing that his life ended happily and on a positive note, the sadness that we were able to enjoy and celebrate his success only for a short time is heartbreaking.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by grandparents Carol Liddle, Connie Butler, and Konrad (Lisa) Young, all of Delaware, Ohio; three brothers: Logan Evans, Brayden and Zachary Liddle; and one sister, Kylie Liddle; aunts Rhonda (Erik) Albert, of Oak Bluffs, and Shelley Liddle; and uncle Jason Butler. He was preceded in death by his grandfather Walter Liddle.
Memorial services were held at the Vineyard House Community Room in Vineyard Haven on Saturday, June 11, 2016.
The family encourages those who need help, and their loved ones, to never give up and to seek help. Please consider donations in Bryce’s memory to the Vineyard House Inc., P.O. Box 4599, Vineyard Haven, MA 02568, or go online to vineyardhouse.org/donate.
