As a self-described “paper artist” or “dimensional illustrator,” Taylor Stone makes handcut paper illustrations and sculptures. The artist, a lifelong collector of beautiful handmade papers, began experimenting with 3D Illustrator as a student at Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) four years ago.
Taylor uses an X-Acto knife to layer and layer handcut sheets of paper, creating whimsical illustrations framed in deep custom-built shadowboxes. Taylor’s products vary from small potted paper plants and cacti to large custom-framed pieces and prints. Her illustration themes draw on a love of folklore, children’s books, magic, and nature, while her little plants appeal to her fellow black-thumbed friends.
