The Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School (MVRHS) indoor track teams made a strong impression at the Massachusetts State Track Coaches Association (MSTCA) Division 5 State Relays held Saturday at the Reggie Lewis Track and Athletic Center in Roxbury. High school teams from across the state competed in the prestigious event.

The Vineyard girls and boys placed among the elite in several events, competing against 50 schools.

In the sprint medley, comprising legs of 800, 200, 200, and 400 meters, Pearl Vercruysse, Addie Hayman, Livy Smith, and MacKenzie Condon finished as state runners-up with a time of 4:26.03. Addie Hayman, Livy Smith, and MacKenzie Condon placed third in the long jump relay, leaping a combined 44 feet, 11 inches.

Both Vineyard teams excelled in the 4 x 200 meter relay. Garrett Hagan, Nick Bonneau, Nevin Wallis, and Andre Bernier were fifth in the boys event, clocking in at 1:38.62, while Abbie Marchand, MacKenzie Condon, Addie Hayman, and Livy Smith placed 12th in the state at 1:55.33 for the girls.
