Senior Elias Fhagen-Smith threw a slaughter-rule-shortened six-inning no-hitter to lead Martha’s Vineyard to a 15-0 victory over Madison Park (Boston), Thursday afternoon at Vineyard Baseball Park in Oak Bluffs. The Vineyard right-hander struck out 10 batters and walked three as MV improved to 4-4.

The Vineyarders finally played a home game after opening the season with seven straight on the road, and the pitching, offense, and defense did not disappoint the home fans.

MV banged out 10 hits and scored runs in all six innings, while playing clean and error-free on defense. The Vineyarders jumped out to a 3-0 first-inning lead and never looked back.

Aidan Aliberti hit 2-3 with a pair of singles, three RBI, two runs scored, and a stolen base. Chris Mayhew also singled twice, knocked in two runs, scored twice, and stole a brace of bases. Jonas Lukowitz singled and tripled, with an RBI, two runs scored, and a steal.

The Vineyarders host Bishop Stang in an Eastern Athletic Conference matchup on April 28 and Dennis-Yarmouth in a non-league contest on May 1. Both games start at 3:15 pm.
