Sense of Wonder creative arts camp hosts an art show and benefit on Friday and Saturday, June 9 and 10, from 1 to 5 pm, with the closing party lasting until 5 pm on Saturday. All Sense of Wonder students ages 3 to 14 have created paintings, drawings, clay projects, gel prints, lantern puppets, papier-mâché, mosaics, and more.
Rick Bausman and his band will entertain, and Dan Butterworth will bring his marionette puppets, jugglers will juggle, and more entertainers will be on hand. Grownups and children will enjoy art projects, taking a turn on the potter’s wheel, trying their hand at woodcrafts and creative boat and building projects. Face painting and games, as well as baked goods for sale will round out the art show.
Sense of Wonder day camp, 23 Grove Avenue in Vineyard Haven, provides a unique program that blends creative arts with environmental awareness. There are still some openings available in the summer day program. Sense of Wonder offers financial aid and scholarships to Island children.
