On Saturday, June 10, more than 150 community members gathered at the Agricultural Hall to celebrate West Tisbury’s 125th birthday with a lively picnic. The event was primarily self-catered, with a potluck-style selection of desserts. While adults chatted and relaxed in the grass behind the Ag Hall, children played games like cornhole, and eagerly explored a fire truck. Maggie’s Kitchen provided musical entertainment, and Selectman Jeffrey “Skipper” Manter set up a free hot dog and popcorn stand. Alongside the snacking and merrymaking, West Tisbury resident Fred Fisher offered hayrides in the dappled light beneath the trees, in a cart pulled by his powerful pair of draft horses.
